Do People Change?
A new day brings forth new drama and that drama today was with the ex.. again. Hopefully this is the last time. The gist of the story is she got into a car accident yesterday, I text her saying I’m glad to hear she’s alright, she texts me today saying that I’m still a terrible person and then the drama ensues. Now this is all fine and dandy, also expected, but the point I want to make with this is whether or not people truly change.
People don’t change unless they’re changing for themselves.
They just don’t. You can’t tell someone to change what’s wrong with them when they see nothing wrong to begin with. Unfortunately most people are too stubborn to admit that there can be anything wrong with them in the first place. Then there are some who realize what’s wrong but don’t find it important enough to fix it. Or maybe they’re just lazy. I’ve tried to talk sense into my ex many many times, but she’ll never see my point of view and that’s just how it goes.
In the end, it’s our choices that define who we are.
